CD177

CD177, also known as CD177 molecule (human), is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein expressed on a subset of human neutrophils. It is commonly referred to as PRV-1 due to its association with polycythemia rubra vera. CD177 functions by associating with β2 integrins and recognizing PECAM-1, playing a crucial role in neutrophil migration and activation. It is involved in various signaling pathways, including BMP signaling, and has been linked to inflammatory bowel disease, sepsis, and cancer. Research on CD177 has led to the development of potential drug targets for modulating neutrophil migration and function, offering new avenues for therapeutic intervention in related diseases.
