CETP

Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP), also known as plasma lipid transfer protein, is a glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism. It facilitates the exchange of cholesteryl esters and triglycerides between lipoproteins, such as HDL and LDL. This process is involved in the reverse cholesterol transport pathway, which helps remove cholesterol from peripheral tissues.
CETP is associated with various cardiovascular diseases. Dysregulation of CETP activity can lead to abnormal lipid profiles and increased risk of atherosclerosis. In drug development, CETP inhibitors have been investigated as potential therapies to raise HDL - cholesterol levels and reduce cardiovascular risk. However, clinical outcomes of some CETP inhibitors have been mixed.

IHC image of CSB-RA005267A0HU diluted at 1:115 and staining in paraffin-embedded human liver tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4℃ overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
