CGRP

CGRP, also known as calcitonin gene-related peptide, is an important neuropeptide that is widely present in the nervous system and cardiovascular system. Structurally, it has a specific amino acid sequence that determines its unique biological activity. Functionally, CGRP mainly regulates physiological and pathological processes such as vascular dilation, pain transmission, and inflammatory response. When CGRP binds to the CGRP receptor, it activates the cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) signaling pathway, which in turn regulates downstream gene expression and cellular functions. The activation of this signaling pathway has important implications for the pathogenesis of diseases such as migraine. Currently, drug development targeting CGRP or its receptor has become a new strategy for treating related diseases, aiming to alleviate headaches and prevent migraine attacks by regulating this signaling pathway. With further research on CGRP and its signaling pathway, we are expected to provide more effective methods for the treatment of related diseases.
