CREG1

CREG1, short for cellular repressor of E1A-stimulated genes 1, is also known as C1orf106. This protein participates in diverse cellular processes. It inhibits cell cycle progression by modulating the activity of the E2F family of transcription factors. Moreover, CREG1 is involved in the TGF-β and Wnt signaling pathways.
Altered expression of CREG1 is linked to multiple diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders. In drug development, CREG1 is considered a potential therapeutic target.
