DNAJB1

DNAJB1, DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member B1. also known as Hdj1, Sis1, HSPF1, Hsp40, RSPH16B. it is encoded by the human DNAJB1 gene, which is located on chromosome 19 at position p13.12.
DNAJB1 is a molecular chaperone, with a J structural domain, that stimulates Hsp70 heat shock protein's ATPase activity to promote protein folding and prevent aggregation of misfolded proteins. DNAJB1 can be involved in a variety of cellular events, such as protein folding and the assembly of oligomeric protein complexes, and is essential for the maintenance of intracellular protein homeostasis.
