DPEP1

Dipeptidase 1 (DPEP1), also known as renal dipeptidase or dehydropeptidase-I, is a zinc-dependent membrane metallopeptidase mainly expressed in the proximal tubular brush border of the kidney. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of dipeptides with proline or alanine at the C-terminal position, contributing to renal peptide metabolism and drug clearance.
DPEP1 modulates carbapenem antibiotic degradation—its inhibitor cilastatin is co-administered with imipenem to preserve therapeutic efficacy. Altered expression links to renal dysfunction and cancers like colorectal and pancreatic cancer, where it may affect tumor progression. Ongoing studies explore DPEP1 as a target for cancer and renal disease therapies.

Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with CSB-PA007123LA01HU at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
