EXOSC10

EXOSC10, an exosome component with RNA exonuclease activity, is engaged in RNA metabolism, including the maturation of 5.8S rRNA and the regulation of telomere maintenance. Found in the cytosol, nucleus, and transcriptionally active chromatin, EXOSC10 is a key component of the RNase complex involved in extranuclear secretion. It functions by activating its 3'-5' exonuclease capability to degrade specific RNAs, thus modulating gene expression. This protein is crucial for gene expression stability and cell cycle regulation, with its dysregulation implicated in diseases such as liver disease, cancer, and neurological disorders.
