LGALS1, Galectin-1, also known as GAL1, galectin-1, GBP, HBL, HLBP14, HPL, etc. LGALS1 is encoded by the human LGALS1 gene, which is located on chromosome 3956.
LGALS1 is a β-galactoside-binding protein, which can be either a monomer or a homodimer, and is found in a wide range of a wide variety of cells and tissues. It participates in the regulation of cell proliferation, apoptosis, adhesion and intercellular signaling by binding to cell surface glycans. LGALS1 has immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory effects, inhibiting acute and chronic inflammation and autoimmunity, and also plays a role in various aspects of tumor immune escape, tumor cell invasion and metastasis, and tumor angiogenesis, and promotes tumor progression.

Overlay Peak curve showing 3T3 cells surface stained with CSB-RA012882MA1HU (red line) at 1:100. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde (15min) and permeated by 0.2% TritonX-100 for 10min. Then 10% normal goat serum was Incubated to block non-specific protein-protein interactions followed by the antibody (1µg/1*10⁶cells) for 45 min at 4°C. The secondary antibody used was FITC-conjugated Goat Anti-Mouse IgG(H+L) at 1/200 dilution for 35 min at 4°C. Isotype control antibody (green line) was mouse IgG1 (1µg/1*10⁶cells) used under the same conditions. Acquisition of >10, 007 events was performed.
