MACROD1, full name macro domain containing 1. It is an intracellular protein with de-ADP-ribosylation activity, regulating DNA damage repair, cellular stress response and protein homeostasis. Dysregulated MACROD1 correlates with neurodegenerative diseases and cancers, promoting tumor proliferation and drug resistance. MACROD1 inhibitors are under preclinical research for anti-tumor and neurological therapy.
