MAVS

MAVS, full name mitochondrial antiviral signaling protein, also known as IPS-1, VISA. It is a key innate immune protein on mitochondria, initiating antiviral responses and promoting interferon secretion. MAVS dysfunction relates to viral infections, autoimmune diseases and cancers. MAVS modulators are under preclinical research for antiviral, autoimmune and anti-tumor therapy.
