MYCN

Myc Proto-Oncogene Protein N-Myc (commonly known as N-Myc) is a Myc family transcription factor. It binds E-box DNA motifs to regulate genes governing cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, interacting with pathways like Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K/Akt to promote cell cycle progression and inhibit programmed cell death.
MYCN amplification is a hallmark of high-risk neuroblastoma, also linked to small cell lung cancer and retinoblastoma. Current drug development includes BET inhibitors (e.g., JQ1) that suppress MYCN expression, antisense oligonucleotides targeting MYCN mRNA, and combination therapies to enhance efficacy against MYCN-driven tumors.
