NLRX1

NLRX1, also known as Nod - like receptor X1, is a NOD - like receptor family protein. It is also commonly referred to as NOD9. Mechanistically, NLRX1 localizes to the mitochondria and can interact with several signaling molecules. It plays a role in regulating both innate and adaptive immune responses. It participates in the RIG - I - like receptor (RLR) signaling pathway, affecting antiviral immunity.
Aberrant NLRX1 function has been linked to various diseases, such as autoimmune disorders and certain types of cancers. In terms of drug development, some research is exploring small - molecule modulators that target NLRX1 to regulate immune responses and potentially treat associated diseases, but this area is still in the early stages of investigation.
