NPY2R, neuropeptide Y receptor Y2, alias NPY2-R, Y2R, is a G-protein coupled receptor, a member of the neuropeptide Y receptor family, which is encoded by its own gene in human cells.The mechanism of action of NPY2R is to activate the receptor by binding to the ligands, such as neuropeptide Y (NPY) and peptide YY (PYY), and to exert its biological effects through the signaling pathway mediated by Gαi/o proteins.
