PTPRZ1

Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type Z1 (PTPRZ1, alias RPTPzeta) is a transmembrane tyrosine phosphatase modified with chondroitin sulfate chains. It regulates cell adhesion and migration by interacting with extracellular matrix proteins (e.g., tenascin-C) and modulating downstream cascades like PI3K/Akt and Rho GTPase pathways.
Dysregulated PTPRZ1 is implicated in glioblastoma, enhancing tumor invasion and therapeutic resistance. Preclinical efforts focus on small-molecule inhibitors targeting its catalytic domain or neutralizing antibodies to suppress oncogenic activity, offering potential strategies for this aggressive brain cancer.
