RPS3

RPS3, also known as ribosomal protein S3, is a crucial component of the 40S small ribosomal subunit. This protein has several aliases including MGC17967, eS3 and S3. It is involved in protein synthesis, binding to messenger RNA and facilitating the translation process. RPS3 also participates in DNA repair and apoptosis pathways.
Dysregulation of RPS3 has been linked to various diseases, such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. In cancer, abnormal expression can promote tumor growth and metastasis. Currently, some research is exploring RPS3 as a potential target for drug development. However, more studies are needed to fully understand its mechanisms and develop effective therapies.
