RXFP1

RXFP1, also known as relaxin family peptide receptor 1, has alternative names including LGR7 and RXFPR1. RXFP1 belongs to the leucine-rich repeat subfamily of the G protein-coupled seven-transmembrane receptor superfamily and is the receptor for the protein hormone relaxin. By binding to relaxin, RXFP1 activates the G protein signaling pathway, playing a crucial role in sperm motility, pregnancy, and labor. RXFP1 plays a key role in regulating the reproductive system, cardiovascular system, and anti-fibrotic processes; its reduced expression may be involved in endometriosis. The activation of RXFP1 can also reduce vascular resistance and potential pulmonary pressure, increase cardiac output, and enhance perfusion in vital central vascular beds such as those of the kidneys, lungs, and liver.
