SEMA3G

Semaphorin-3G (SEMA3G) is a secreted protein belonging to the semaphorin family, which is commonly known as SEMAJ. It acts as a guidance cue during neuronal development, binding to neuropilin receptors and plexin co - receptors. This binding triggers intracellular signaling cascades that regulate axon growth and guidance.
SEMA3G is involved in the PI3K - Akt and MAPK signaling pathways. Dysregulation of SEMA3G has been associated with various neurological disorders and cancers. In drug development, research is exploring the potential of targeting SEMA3G - related pathways for treating these diseases, but significant progress is yet to be achieved.
