SIGLEC15

SIGLEC15, also known as sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 15, is a transmembrane protein. It has no widely known common aliases. SIGLEC15 functions by binding to sialic acid ligands on cell surfaces, which plays a role in immune regulation. It is involved in the immune checkpoint pathway, interacting with other immune - related molecules.
This protein is associated with various cancers, as it can help tumor cells evade immune surveillance. In drug development, monoclonal antibodies targeting SIGLEC15 are being explored. These antibodies aim to block its function and enhance the anti - tumor immune response, showing potential in oncology treatment.
