TAGLN2

TAGLN2, Transgelin 2, alias HA1756, Transgelin-2, is an important member of the actin cytoskeletal binding protein family and is widely expressed in cells of various tissues. The mechanism of action of TAGLN2 involves the regulation of cell morphology, motility and cell transformation, and affects the remodeling of cytoskeleton through direct binding to actin microfilament structures, which in turn participates in the functional regulation of cell morphology and transformation, cell migration and motility, cell differentiation and proliferation and apoptosis.
The potential function of TAGLN2 in the malignant phenotype of tumor cells has attracted the attention of researchers. It is not only tightly connected to the actin skeleton to regulate cell movement, but also expressed in the nucleus, which may affect the cell phenotype by directly regulating the expression of related genes. Increased expression of TAGLN2 is associated with elevated tumor grade and poor prognosis, and its role in tumor development makes it a potential molecular therapeutic target.
