TFR1 (Transferrin Receptor 1) is a transferrin protein receptor responsible for the uptake and transport of iron ions into cells. This transmembrane protein consists of an α subunit and a β subunit. The α subunit is located on the outer side of the cell and binds to transferrin, while the β subunit is located on the inner side of the cell and interacts with intracellular iron metabolism-related proteins. The main function of TFRC is to uptake iron ions from extracellular transferrin by binding to it and transport them into the cell. Once transferrin binds to TFRC, the complex is internalized into the cell, forming an endosome, and subsequently releasing iron ions into the intracellular iron metabolism pathway. TFRC plays a crucial role in cell growth, metabolism, and iron metabolism and has significant functions in various diseases.
The following TFR1 reagents supplied by CUSABIO are manufactured under a strict quality control system. Multiple applications have been validated and solid technical support is offered.
