THBD

THBD encodes the thrombomodulin protein, also known as CD141. Thrombomodulin is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of endothelial cells. It acts as a co - factor for thrombin, converting it from a pro - coagulant enzyme to an anticoagulant enzyme by binding to thrombin and activating protein C. This activation is key in the protein C anticoagulant pathway.
Aberrant levels or function of thrombomodulin are associated with various diseases like thrombosis and sepsis. In drug development, thrombomodulin - based therapies, such as recombinant thrombomodulin, are being investigated for treating sepsis and other coagulation - related disorders, aiming to restore normal hemostasis.

Validated Data

IHC image of CSB-RA222792A0HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human placenta tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-rabbit polymer IgG labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.
