TMEFF1

TMEFF1, a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family and encoded by the TMEFF1 gene, is expressed in various epithelial cells. It binds to receptors like EGFR, activating downstream pathways such as PI3K/AKT and MAPK, and is involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. TMEFF1's expression in tumors correlates with their invasive and metastatic potential, making it a candidate target for cancer therapy.
