The TRPM1 gene encodes the transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily M, member 1 protein, also known as melastatin. This protein functions as a non-selective cation channel, primarily expressed in the retina and melanocytes. TRPM1 is activated by various stimuli, including glutamate and UVB light, and plays a crucial role in the visual pathway and melanin metabolism. It is involved in the signaling pathway of ON bipolar cells, where it mediates the photoresponse. Mutations in TRPM1 are associated with congenital stationary night blindness and melanoma. Research on TRPM1 has led to potential drug targets for treating these conditions.
Validated Data
(Tris-Glycine gel) Discontinuous SDS-PAGE (reduced) with 5% enrichment gel and 15% separation gel.
TRPM1 Antibody (CSB-PA773791LA01HU)
Validated Data
Immunofluorescence staining of A549 cells with CSB-PA773791LA01HU at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
The following TRPM1 reagents supplied by CUSABIO are manufactured under a strict quality control system. Multiple applications have been validated and solid technical support is offered.
