CTF1

CTF1, full name cardiotrophin 1, is commonly referred to as CT-1 or CT1, a secreted cytokine of the IL-6 superfamily. It exerts biological functions by binding to LIFR/gp130 receptor complex, activating the core JAK/STAT pathway, and additionally modulating PI3K-Akt and MAPK pathways, which regulates cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, cell survival and differentiation in cardiovascular and neural systems.
CTF1 dysregulation correlates with heart failure, myocardial infarction and preeclampsia, and its abnormal expression promotes breast cancer and glioma progression. Preclinical research focuses on recombinant CTF1 for cardiac protection and ischemic disease treatment. CTF1-targeted inhibitors are being explored for anti-tumor therapy, with its role in tumor microenvironment as a promising novel therapeutic target.

IHC image of CSB-PA621965LA01HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human adrenal gland tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
