FBXO3

FBXO3, F-box only protein 3, also known as FBA, FBX3. FBXO3 is encoded by the human FBXO3 gene, which is located at chromosome position 11p13. FBXO3 is a member of the F-box family of proteins, which is characterized by the presence of the F-box motif containing approximately 40 amino acids.F-box proteins are one of the four subunits of the SCF (SKP1- Cullin-F-box) ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, one of four subunits involved in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. FBXO3 belongs to the class of Fbxs and contains different protein-protein interaction modules or unrecognizable motifs.
FBXO3 has a wide range of biological functions, including modulation of immunopathology, neurological disorders, and antiviral responses. FBXO3 has been shown to have a role in inflammatory diseases and human malignancies, including rheumatoid arthritis, leukemia, pituitary adenomas, and oral squamous cell carcinomas. FBXO3 regulates a wide range of cellular functions through ubiquitination and degradation of specific substrates, and has emerged as a novel target for the treatment of a wide range of diseases, including cancer.
