GSTP1

Glutathione S-transferase Pi 1 (GSTP1), also known as GST-pi, is a phase II metabolic enzyme. It catalyzes the conjugation of glutathione to electrophilic compounds—including reactive oxygen species and xenobiotics—neutralizing their toxicity and maintaining cellular redox balance.
GSTP1 regulates the MAPK/ERK pathway by sequestering JNK, inhibiting its activation. Overexpressed in breast, prostate, and lung cancers, it contributes to chemotherapy resistance. Inhibitors like ethacrynic acid analogs are being explored to reverse this resistance, while GSTP1 expression levels serve as a prognostic biomarker for multiple malignancies.

IHC image of CSB-RA178104A0HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4℃ overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-rabbit IgG polymer labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.
