IRF7

IRF7, or interferon regulatory factor 7, is a transcription factor critical for innate immune responses, particularly antiviral defense. It is activated by pattern recognition receptors like TLRs and RLRs, leading to phosphorylation and nuclear translocation, where it induces type I interferon (IFN-α/β) and proinflammatory cytokine expression. Key signaling pathways include the MyD88-dependent and TRIF-dependent pathways, as well as the RIG-I/MDA5 pathway.
Dysregulation of IRF7 is linked to autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and interferonopathies, while impaired function increases susceptibility to viral infections. Emerging therapeutic strategies target IRF7 modulation, with small molecule agonists and antisense oligonucleotides under preclinical evaluation for viral diseases and autoimmune disorders, respectively.

Overlay Peak curve showing A549 cells stained with CSB-RA568273A0HU (red line) at 1:100. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde and permeated by 0.2% TritonX-100 for 10min. Then 10% normal goat serum to block non-specific protein-protein interactions followed by the antibody (1ug/1*10⁶cells) for 45min at 4℃. The secondary antibody used was FITC-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1/200 dilution for 35min at 4℃.Control antibody (green line) was Rabbit IgG (1ug/1*10⁶cells) used under the same conditions. Acquisition of >10,000 events was performed.
