NCR1

NCR1, Natural Cytotoxicity Trigger Receptor 1, alias NKp46, CD335, LY94, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains and belongs to the type I transmembrane receptor.NCR1 is encoded by a gene on human chromosome 19, located in the Leukocyte Receptor Complex (LRC) region. The mechanism of action of NCR1 is to activate the cytotoxicity and cytokine secretion of NK cells by binding to the ligand on the surface of tumor cells or virus-infected cells, thus participating in the body's immune surveillance and defense responses.

The biological significance of NCR1 is reflected in its important role in regulating the function of natural killer (NK) cells, which are recognized as tumors or viral-infected cells and then exerted their killing effects by NCR1. NCR1 expression and function are essential for maintaining the immune homeostasis and defense of the body. In addition, NCR1 may play a role in other immune cell subsets, such as certain types of T cells and intrinsic lymphocytes (ILCs), which provide potential targets for the development of new immunotherapeutic strategies.
