SEMA7A

Sema7A, also known as semaphorin-7A, is a protein encoded by the SEMA7A gene. It is also commonly referred to as CD108. This protein plays a crucial role in the immune response and nervous system development. It functions through interacting with integrin receptors, which activates downstream signaling pathways related to cell adhesion and migration.
Sema7A is associated with various diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and certain types of cancer. Regarding drug development, research is underway to target the Sema7A - integrin interaction. Scientists hope to develop novel therapies based on this mechanism to treat relevant diseases, but significant progress is yet to be achieved.
