SFTPB

SFTPB, full name surfactant protein B. It is expressed in alveolar epithelial cells, reducing alveolar surface tension and maintaining normal respiratory ventilation function of lungs.
SFTPB deficiency causes respiratory distress syndrome and interstitial lung diseases. SFTPB replacement therapies are in preclinical and early clinical development for pulmonary disorders.
