CLDN1

CLDN1, also known as Claudin-1, belongs to the claudin family. It is a crucial component of tight junctions, which play a vital role in maintaining cell polarity and regulating paracellular permeability. Claudin-1 is involved in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
Abnormal expression of CLDN1 has been associated with various diseases, including liver fibrosis, hepatitis C virus infection, and certain types of cancer. In drug development, CLDN1 is being explored as a potential therapeutic target. Some ongoing research aims to develop drugs that can modulate its function to treat related diseases.
