ESM1

ESM1 encodes Endothelial cell-specific molecule 1, also known as Endocan. It is a soluble proteoglycan mainly secreted by vascular endothelial cells. Acting as a key regulator of cell adhesion and migration, Endocan interacts with extracellular matrix proteins and cell surface receptors. It is involved in the PI3K - AKT and MAPK signaling pathways, which are crucial for cell survival and proliferation.
Dysregulation of ESM1 is linked to various diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular disorders and inflammatory diseases. In cancer, it promotes tumor angiogenesis and metastasis. Currently, several research efforts are underway to develop therapeutic agents targeting ESM1 for potential cancer treatment, aiming to block its function and inhibit disease progression.

IHC image of CSB-PA007825LA01HU diluted at 1:400 and staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
