LPAR1

LPAR1, also known as Lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1, is also commonly referred to as Edg-2. This protein plays a crucial role in various cellular processes. It binds to lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), initiating a series of intracellular signaling cascades, mainly through the activation of G - protein - coupled pathways.
LPAR1 is involved in multiple pathways including Rho - mediated cytoskeletal rearrangement. Aberrant activity of LPAR1 has been linked to several diseases such as cancer, fibrosis, and neurological disorders. In drug development, there are ongoing efforts to design LPAR1 - specific antagonists as potential therapies for these associated diseases.
