MRC1

MRC1, or CD301, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded by the MRC1 gene, predominantly expressed on myeloid cells like monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It engages with various ligands, including extracellular matrix proteins and pathogens, to regulate immune cell functions such as adhesion, phagocytosis, and antigen presentation. MRC1's abnormal expression and function are correlated with diseases like cancer, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases, playing a role in inflammation and tissue repair through the mononuclear-macrophage system, positioning it as a potential immunological research and treatment target.
