SELP

SELP encodes P - selectin, also known as CD62P or granule membrane protein - 140. It is a cell - adhesion molecule expressed on the surface of activated endothelial cells and platelets. P - selectin binds to specific glycoprotein ligands on leukocytes, facilitating their rolling on the vascular endothelium. This interaction is crucial for the recruitment of immune cells to sites of inflammation, operating in the leukocyte extravasation pathway.
Abnormal P - selectin function is associated with various diseases such as atherosclerosis, thrombosis, and some autoimmune disorders. In drug development, inhibitors targeting P - selectin are being explored. These agents aim to block the interaction between P - selectin and its ligands, potentially reducing inflammation and preventing unwanted blood clot formation.

Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with CSB-PA020978LA01HU at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
