CEACAM5, carcinoembryonic antigen cell adhesion molecule 5, alias CD66e, is encoded by the human CEACAM5 gene, which is located on chromosome 19q13.2, with an approximate gene length of 21 kilobases (kb), and consists of nine exons and three non-coding exons. CEACAM5 binds to membranes via glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) and has a total of seven extracellular immunoglobulin-like structural domains, including one variable (IgV)-like structural domain and six IgC-like structural domains (A1-B3).
CEACAM5 plays a role in a variety of biological processes, including cell adhesion, cell signaling, and immune regulation, and is highly expressed in many malignant tumor cells, and is widely used for cancer diagnosis and monitoring. Aberrant expression of CEACAM5 is associated with the development of many cancers, especially overexpressed in colorectal, gastric, lung and pancreatic cancers, and is a potential target for cancer therapy.

Overlay Peak curve showing Hela cells surface stained with CSB-RA005165MA3HU (red line) at 1:100. Then 10% normal goat serum was Incubated to block non-specific protein-protein interactions followed by the antibody (1µg/1*106cells) for 45 min at 4°C. The secondary antibody used was FITC-conjugated Goat Anti-human IgG(H+L) at 1/200 dilution for 35 min at 4°C. Isotype control antibody (green line) was human IgG1 (1µg/1*106cells) used under the same conditions. Acquisition of >10,026 events was performed.
