Cd40l

CD40L, also known as CD154, is a transmembrane protein officially named CD40 ligand. It is a crucial member of the TNF superfamily. CD40L interacts with CD40, activating multiple signaling pathways such as the NF - κB pathway. This activation plays a vital role in immune cell activation, including B - cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival.
Dysregulation of CD40L is associated with various diseases, including autoimmune disorders like systemic lupus erythematosus and certain types of cancers. In drug development, agents targeting the CD40 - CD40L interaction are being investigated, aiming to modulate the immune response for better disease treatment outcomes.
