NECTIN2

NECTIN2, also known as poliovirus receptor-related 2, is a cell adhesion molecule belonging to the nectin family. It is commonly also referred to as CD112. NECTIN2 plays a crucial role in cell - cell adhesion, proliferation, and movement through interacting with other nectins and afadin. It is involved in the PI3K - Akt signaling pathway, which regulates cell growth and survival.
Aberrant expression of NECTIN2 is associated with various diseases, including certain types of cancers. In the field of drug development, NECTIN2 is being explored as a potential target for immunotherapies. Some pre - clinical studies are investigating antibodies that can block its function to enhance anti - tumor immune responses.
