TNFSF14 Research Reagents

TNFSF14 is the 14th member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily (TNFSF), also known as LIGHT or TNFRSF14-L. The members of TNFSF have the function of promoting cell growth, differentiation or death, and play an important biological role in the formation of lymphoid organs, the activation of immune cells and the maintenance of body homeostasis.

TNFSF14 is mainly expressed in activated T cells and B cells, and induces cell maturation. It is also expressed in monocytes and immature dendritic cells, and the expression of TNFSF14 is rapidly down-regulated once the dendritic cells are induced to mature by lipopolysaccharide stimulation. The mRNA of TNFSF14 is highly expressed in the spleen and lymph nodes, but lower in peripheral blood lymphocytes, colon, small intestine, bone marrow, thymus and lung; the expression of TNFSF14 cannot be detected in fetal tissues and organs and endocrine glands. The selective expression of TNFSF14 in different tissues and cells is related to its different regulatory roles in immune response.
