SSTR2

SSTR2 (Somatostatin Receptor 2) is a G protein-coupled receptor protein belonging to the somatostatin receptor family, and it plays a role in cell signaling and somatostatin regulation. SSTR2 is an important receptor for somatostatin, a multifunctional hormone that can inhibit the secretion of various growth factors and hormones, including growth hormone, insulin, and gastric acid, among others. When somatostatin binds to SSTR2, it can inhibit the secretion of the corresponding hormones and cell growth, thereby regulating multiple physiological processes. Specific SSTR2 agonists and antagonists have been used in the treatment of certain diseases, such as neuroendocrine tumors and thyroid disorders.
