CXCL5

CXCL5, also known as C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 5, is commonly referred to as ENA-78. This protein functions mainly by binding to the CXCR2 receptor. It is involved in the activation of signal - transduction pathways such as the MAPK and PI3K - Akt pathways, regulating cell migration, angiogenesis, and immune cell recruitment.
Studies have shown that CXCL5 is associated with various diseases, including cancer, inflammatory diseases, and cardiovascular disorders. In the field of drug development, targeting CXCL5 and its signaling pathway is considered a promising strategy. Some pre - clinical studies are exploring inhibitors to block its effects, aiming to develop new therapies.
