KLKB1

KLKB1 encodes kallikrein - B1, also commonly known as plasma kallikrein. This protein plays a crucial role in the contact activation system. It is activated by factor XIIa and, in turn, cleaves high - molecular - weight kininogen to release bradykinin. The activation of KLKB1 is involved in the kallikrein - kinin system and the coagulation cascade.
Aberrant KLKB1 activity is associated with various diseases, such as hereditary angioedema. In terms of drug development, inhibitors of KLKB1 are being investigated for treating conditions related to excessive bradykinin production. These efforts aim to regulate the kallikrein - kinin system and manage associated symptoms.

IHC image of CSB-RA553053A0HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human liver tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4℃ overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-rabbit IgG polymer labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.
