Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Thyroid hormone-binding protein. Probably transports thyroxine from the bloodstream to the brain.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Data suggest that the mutated transthyretin (TTR) seems to have potential as biomarker for early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). PMID: 28876464
  2. Serum transthyretin level dramatically decreased in animals displaying decompression sickness symptoms. PMID: 27068327
  3. We conclude that stress upregulates TTR expression in choroid plexus. PMID: 22371232
  4. Decreased trophoblast expression of retinol transport proteins suggest that nitrofen may interfere with the fetal retinol transport resulting in reduced pulmonary RBP and TTR levels and causing pulmonary hypoplasia in CDH. PMID: 22015466
  5. Data demonstrate that, in vitro and in vivo, transthyretin is up-regulated by progesterone, and suggest that this response is mediated through a progesterone receptor-mediated mechanism. PMID: 20535645
  6. Structural basis of negative cooperativity in transthyretin PMID: 11995997
  7. Complex of rat transthyretin with tetraiodothyroacetic acid refined at 2.1 and 1.8 A resolution PMID: 11995998

  9. Amyloid formation in rat transthyretin: effect of oxidative stress PMID: 12135814
  10. data show the LR1 gene is up-regulated following short interval successive partial hepatectomy; it may play an important role in liver regeneration PMID: 12508371
  11. Data suggest that monomeric transthyretin may represent an ischemia-specific CSF marker to indicate the sequential changes according to ischemic insults of the brain. PMID: 15469881
  12. Our study provides genetic, behavioural and molecular evidence that TTR is involved in the maintenance of normal cognitive processes during aging by acting on the retinoid signalling pathway. PMID: 17512093
  13. Ttr mRNA expression in dorsal root ganglia and cauda equina. PMID: 18406527
  14. Sex hormones may increase TTR synthesis by the liver, and therefore, may contribute to amyloid deposition. PMID: 18568387
  15. Results suggest that transthyretin is up-regulated by estradiol via a pathway involving estrogen receptors alpha and beta. PMID: 19130215
  16. The expression of transthyretin in brain of a transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer's disease is asymmetric and affected by age and sex. PMID: 19167467
  17. rat and murine TTR have a lower intrinsic beta-aggregation propensity and a similar native beta-structure stability compared with human TTR. PMID: 19602727
  18. Transthyretin is expressed in the pineal gland >30-fold higher than the median expression level in other tissues, at levels similar to those in the choroid plexus. PMID: 19103603
