Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Description

NOV (CCN3) functions as a matricellular signaling protein with roles in cell proliferation, adhesion, and angiogenesis, making it a key target in immunology and tumor biology research. This tag-free recombinant human NOV, covering residues 28–357 of the mature protein, demonstrates an ED50 below 1.0 μg/ml in Balb/c 3T3 cell proliferation assays, corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 1,000 IU/mg—providing a reliable standard for proliferation and survival assays, receptor-ligand binding studies via SPR or ELISA, and antibody characterization workflows. Produced in *E. coli*, this preparation lacks mammalian glycosylation, which makes it particularly suitable as a defined, unglycosylated control in competition binding experiments or as an ELISA calibrator where carbohydrate heterogeneity would confound quantitation. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for cell-based angiogenesis models and in vivo tumor biology studies.
