Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Embryonic developmental protein. The lateral or ventral identity of a cell depends upon the concentration of this protein in its nucleus during the blastoderm stage. A morphogenetic protein that specifically binds to the kappa B-related consensus sequence 5'-GRGAAAANCC-3', located in the enhancer region of zygotic genes such as Zen, Twist, Snail and Decapentaplegic. Mediates an immune response in larvae. Part of a signaling pathway involving NF-kappa-B and Toll-related receptors, that functions in the apoptosis of unfit cells during cell competition. May be part of a NF-kappa-B and Tollo signaling cascade that regulates development of the peripheral nervous system.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Dorsal, a Drosophila homolog of NF-kappaB, patterns the dorsal-ventral axis in the blastoderm embryo. During this stage, Dorsal is sequestered outside the nucleus by the IkappaB homolog Cactus. Dorsal accumulates on the ventral side of the syncytial blastoderm. We use modeling and experimental studies to show that this accumulation is caused by facilitated diffusion, or shuttling, of the Dorsal/Cactus complex. PMID: 29097443
  2. ere, we describe an extensive, quantitative perturbation analysis targeting the dorsal-ventral patterning gene regulatory network (GRN) controlled by Drosophila NF-kappaB homolog Dorsal. PMID: 27152947
  3. The Toll-dorsal pathway is required for resistance to viral oral infection in Drosophila. PMID: 25473839
  4. demonstrated that the core promoter composition is an important determinant of transcriptional activity of Dorsal target genes PMID: 24634215
  5. Combinatorial effects of uniform and graded factors play an important role in the transcriptional and signaling cascades initiated by Dorsal and may explain differential positioning of gene expression borders by other morphogen gradients PMID: 22981910
  6. via relief of Groucho- and Capicua-mediated repression, the Torso and EGFR RTK pathways induce expression of WntD, which in turn limits Dl nuclear localization at the poles and along the DV axis PMID: 22791891
  7. we have compared genome occupancy of CBP with 40 different transcription factors in Drosophila embryos and find that master regulators of dorsal-ventral patterning, the transcription factors Dorsal and Medea, target CBP to the genome PMID: 22737084
  8. propose that the Dorsal gradient supplies positional information throughout nuclear cycles 10-14 PMID: 20018754
  9. time-dependent properties of the Dl gradient are different from those of the Bicoid and MAPK phosphorylation gradients, which pattern the anterior and terminal regions of the embryo PMID: 19996178
  10. Genome-wide analysis of clustered Dorsal binding sites identifies putative target genes in the Drosophila embryo. PMID: 11752406
  11. The Dorsal Rel homology domain plays an active role in transcriptional regulation. Two classes of mutations (termed class I and class II mutations) that alter activation without affecting DNA binding or nuclear import were identified. PMID: 12077338
  12. The role of Pelle kinase and Twist in the Dorsal signaling pathway that specifies patterning thresholds of gene expression PMID: 12091311
  13. analysis of the interaction between the dorsal rel homology domain and HMG boxes of DSP1 protein PMID: 14607986
  14. The maternal Toll signaling pathway sets up a nuclear gradient of the transcription factor Dorsal in the early Drosophila embryo. PMID: 15987775
  15. WntD acts as a feedback inhibitor of the NF-kappaB homologue Dorsal during both embryonic patterning and the innate immune response to infection PMID: 16107793
  16. Two Xenopus Rel proteins can partially substitute for several, but not all, functions of the dl protein in Drosophila embryos. PMID: 16493693
  17. Results support the view that methuselah expression is regulated by dorsal. PMID: 16682822
  18. Dorsoventral patterning is not dependent upon Dorsal-mediated repression, reflecting the existence of redundant mechanisms to block Decapentaplegic signaling. PMID: 17035291
  19. subcellular localization is negatively regulated by CSN5 PMID: 17295838
  20. mutation analyses of genes known to act upstream of Dorsal revealed a requirement for the interleukin receptor-associated kinase family kinase Pelle for layer-specific targeting of photoreceptor axons PMID: 17603113
